How to create a new glass material...

  • quite opaque
  • low-reflecting
  • slightly blue?

Any suggestions?

In Lumion the glass is only completely transparent so you can created colored glass but you can't create glass that's halfway between opaque and transparent. Dark blue glass is possible. But a light blue glass which is only slightly transparent is not possible yet.

I have used the water selection to give some semitransparent glass with and without color.  First thing to do is select your glass material and apply the water texture to it.  Once done, make the depth of the water bump the lowest it can go.  Go into the advanced settings and adjust for color, or slide the color sliders all the way up to get grey.  From there you can further tweak the "water/glass" to look more like translucent glass with reflection color depth etc.  Best work around i have found so far; hope this helps. ;)

Does this mean opacity setting has no effect on glass appearance?

How to make a dark blue glass?

Heres dark blue glass. You have to play a little around with the sliders to get the result you want.
Mischa and me experimented here: http://lumion3d.com/forum/index.php?topic=769.0 to find a way to create half-transparent white characters. Perhaps it may be useful.
