Is it possible to change your scene from for instance flatlands to empty or sunny day. While building your scene or do you have to start over??

When you make your model in autocad (with layers and all) is it possible to change the material of for example of one single wall (a plane). I can't find the answer anywere. Now I'm still adding layers for different textures.

Is there a way to change the color (not brightness) of textures or do you have to do this in photoshop? Will it be possible in the next version of Lumion? With the possibility to input RGB codes?

When I import max files in a scene the textures have to be reassigned, is there a way to avoid this?

Thanks

Hi Student_Avans

Thanks for the questions and interest in Lumion.

Not by doing some auto-swap of one template for another, no.

You could achieve it though, by amending the terrain and sun/sky/cloud settings in the scene you have built with content, to those settings in one of the other templates.  Of course that would take a little bit of extra time to accomplish.

No, not at present.  It has to be done in the users image editor and then the new texture applied in Lumion.

Thanks for the suggestion.  It has indeed been discussed and request by users and is in the Wishlist.

Whether a feature is implemented in a coming version is up to the developers and all the decisions and implementations they need to do for a version, so I am unable to indicate one way or another if it is possible in the next version.

Textures should not require any re-assignment in Lumion, but it does depend on what material settings are applied in Max.

Are the textures being set in Max as Standard Materials. Preferably a UVMap modifier should also be set.  Please take a look at this topic if not already seen: 3D Studio Max: How do I export a model?

How are you exporting the scene?  OpenCollada, FBX etc?

Thanks for your quick reply,

I can't work with max, but i will look into the other topic. The files from the library (shoes, bags, chairs, etc.) are .max files but they have to be converted to OpenCollada or FBX.

"When you make your model in autocad (with layers and all) is it possible to change the material of for example of one single wall (a plane). I can't find the answer anywere. Now I'm still adding layers for different textures." Is this a good method? Or can it be done easier?

Thanks

I would like to have some renders with terrain and all and some with a white background for the use in presentation material. I can solve this with photoshop but I was wondering if some sort of "auto-swap of one template" will be possible in the future.

Thanks

Sure, just add a unique material to the wall in AutoCAD prior to exporting the model.

There's a couple of options depending on your needs:

1) Import a large skydome (single-sided so that it won't cast a shadow) and make it white.

2) Export a Sky Alpha custom output map in the Movie/Photo section.
