Hi, it looks like Lumion used to have some functionality that allowed users to set shadows to stay on in distant objects. Is it still there but in a different location? I believe it was previously called "Shadowmap Range" or "Shadow Range" but I can't find it anywhere.

Cheers.

To be clear, my current lumion project I am specifically trying to examine the appearance of an object at great distance, approx. 1 mile, and I would really like the object's shadows to be showing up. Right now the shadows cast by my object (which is imported) disappear when I back away from my object at about 300 feet or so.

Hi bakergalloway, the Shadow Range slider is located in the Shadows effect in the Movie/Photo section. The maximum range in Lumion 4.0.4 is currently 1440m.

There used to be a separate Shadow Range slider in Build mode in earlier versions of Lumion but the default value is now hard-coded in this mode.

TIP: Use the Build with effects button in the top left corner of Photo/Movie mode to preview your model in Build mode, but with all effects including customised shadows turned on.
