Semi-transparent layer

Sometimes you have to see a building beyond other objects.
For example, trees or people billboards/silhouttes.

Is there a way to move these objects to a semi-transparent layer so that you can see the building on the background?

Sorry, but no.  Lumion does not support layers that make all objects on the layer semi-transparent. 

Transparency of objects is only possible by setting its materials, so it could be possible to go through all objects and make them Glass for transparency for a special scene.  There is also another technique (by GeoHow) rather than using Glass for semi-transparent objects using Standard Materials.

Do you mean to an object in the Lumion Library such as cars etc, or your imported objects library?

Hi IdeaImmagine, yes, thanks for your suggestion.

The key concept is to allow entourage to be added as quickly as possible so that the next steps in the process to getting to the end result of renders can happen.

Having said that, there is the option for some objects in the Lumion Library, to adjust material properties such as color for vehicles.

Where more unique or specific to project objects are required with own unique materials, then those would be brought in as the imported objects.

This was addressed almost two years ago, now that 5.0 is out do you plan on implementing transparency to objects? Trees, people, etc.

Hi Matt350, sorry but at Act-3D the developers don't comment on whether certain features will be added to future versions of Lumion.

The reason is that they don't want to promise too much and then underdeliver (if certain features turn out to be impossible to implement).
