Is it possible to assign the same material to different objects within one operation?

Does this mean that Lumion loads many times the same texture for every object sharing it?
This could explain slow performances when assigning many materials... :(

No, performance depends on your PC hardware, the complexity of the model and how many different materials your model contains. The reason there is a delay when you click on Edit Materials + click on the model is that Lumion creates a socalled collision tree based on the number of different materials, so that it's possible to click on any of the surfaces.

If you have a slow PC and a very complex model with many different materials, the assignment of materials in Lumion will be faster if you export the model in separate parts and then align them (Select all parts using CTRL + rectangular selection followed by Edit Properties -> Postion type-in).
