hello

Is the viewer Lumion will continue with the L5?

Is the logo will still remain?

Is the viewer going to accept the special effects ?

Is the speed of movement will be revised to be slower?
The movement in the interior of a home are much too fast.

Thank you

Hi Francan, Peter and I are not allowed to comment on what may or may not be implemented in Lumion 5.0.

I would recommend that you phrase those questions as suggestions instead and post them in the Wish List section, so we can register your interest.

Hi Francan

Is the viewer going to accept the special effects ?

Can you please clarify a little for me.

When using the Movie Playback Mode (Enter key), all Effects for clips are rendered in the Viewer.  When the Enter key is used to switch to Explore Mode the Effects for the current clip being played are also rendered.  Except that Effects that involve animation are paused at the current frame, for example Sun Study, Move and Advanced Move.  (as of v4.5.1)

..The movement in the interior of a home are much too fast.

Is it too fast even using Space bar?

Peterm sorry I forgot that detail. Effectively with the space key it is much better. For a long time I did not use.

Morten, the question was rather whether the new L5 would accept the new effects

But ultimately the most important questions for me, about the viewer is this one:

Will it be possible to lock a file created for the viewer, so we can not open it in the pro version and so do not have access to the file contents. A real file block that owners of pro version will not be able to open.

It is for this reason that the greater part of the people do not use the viewer.

You give a LS4 file to a client and you take the risk of losing the client if there are changes to do and he finds between time a cheaper provider then you but mostly you give a part of your personal library.

In the present state of things, I do not use the viewer for professionel projet and that's a shame

What do you think of this blockage. This will be possible or not at all

Thanks for the explanation, but please follow the advice above ;)

Hi Francan

Of course it still does rely on good faith between the client and yourself.

For example: if you created an LS4 of a project to give to client, they could be in their rights to ask for the password/file blocker, depending on terms of service contract.  They could pass that 'file blocker' on to someone else, deliberately, or by accident.  :(

So if it relies on good faith, is a file blocker going to be of use?

I can see that it would prevent those who have no right to see the makeup of the LS4 so long as they do not get hold of the password, and the encryption method is strong enough to prevent being deciphered.

At present you could provide the LS4 with a statement of terms of use if you are concerned, or consider the client is of a risk level where that is required.  Or, only provide an LS4 as part of a client presentation meeting, where you control access.
