Thanks Vincent, I didn't spot anything unusual in the DirectX report.
1) Which power supply have you got (manufacturer + product number) and what's the Wattage?
2) Does the sceen also go black if you load an empty scene and render an image with
Hyperlight enabled?

There's a value in the Windows registry that automatically resets the graphics card drivers if Windows hasn't heard from the graphics card for x seconds. This is what seems to have happened in your case after you started the rendering procedure.
Hyperlight is quite demanding, so the 10 seconds we've set this value to in 5.x might not be enough on older/less powerful cards.
It's relatively easy to set this value to a higher value, e.g, 20 seconds. Here's how:
a) Click on the Windows Start button. Type in 'regedit' and press Return.
b) In the Registry Editor, press CTRL + F and type in 'TdrDelay'.
c) Double-click on this entry, choose 'Decimal' and type in '20'. This means that Windows will wait for 20 seconds instead of for 10 seconds for feedback from the graphics card, before resetting the drivers.
d) Then exit the Registry Editor, reboot Windows and try to render the image again.Please let us know if this works or not.
