Topic: Photometrics in Lumion

I'm pretty new to this, incredibly new.  My office is considering getting Lumion to do renderings and has a question I cannot answer.  We model in Revit, then hope to bring the model into Lumion, but what about the photometrics of lighting we had in Revit?  Does it get lost?  Is there a way to maintain this as the model comes into Lumion?  Thanks!

Hi Paul

Thanks for your interest in Lumion. 

Photometrics do not get exported and imported to Lumion.  The import process is model/mesh focused only.

However, there is an option to use a tool introduced in to V5 - the Replace Node Tool, that should help in placing/positioning of lighting from Revit.

Refer to topic: 'PLACE ITEM ON NODES' TOOL in Lumion 5.0 released.

This requires setting up different dummy objects in Revit for each light type that can be used in Lumion.  Or, you could have a single layout of dummy objects, and use the Context Menu -> Replace From Library once imported, to select individual lights and replace with different lights.
