could i open my free lumion files in my purchased lumion standard ?

Hi Mikey - yes, if the scenes were made in Lumion Free 2.5 you will be able to open them in Lumion 3 (Standard).

Just bear in mind that you probably have to remove and re-apply any movie effects in your project as most of them have been updated in Lumion 3.

can you please tell me how do it do this as i am new to lumion 3,where do i find my old file?
do you import the old version or do you open as load?i have nt figured that out yet?

No problem, all you need to do is to copy the Scenes & Library folders from the Lumion 2 Free folder in My Documents and place them in the Lumion 3 folder. Then restart Lumion to make sure that the files show up.

 i copied all the lib & scene and put them in the lumion folder 3 respectively, start up my lumion 3 -load scene all the new scene are visible expect the old free 2.5 version are not shown ,so i clicked on the the one of the old file ...it sent the lumion 3 crashing out.....any thoughts?

Sorry about that, Mikey - there was a typo in my previous post

I meant to say that you need to copy-paste the Scene + Library folders from the Lumion 2 folder to the Lumion 3 folder as described in the FAQ post.

The Lumion Free folder was used for earlier versions of Lumion (something like 2.2.1 and earlier), and those scenes can't be loaded in newer versions of Lumion.

At the time, the developers didn't want companies to use say, 5 Lumion Free licenses for preparing scenes and only paying for 1 Lumion (Full) license for rendering videos, so the crash when you try to open those scenes is in fact intentional.

A scene saved in Lumion Free 2.5 is saved in My Documents/Lumion 2/Scenes, so you should still be able to load those scenes in Lumion 3 after copying them.
