I have an question:

I have to make an model of a house. But there are to phases of that house: one old version and a new one with an extension of the house.

I would like to make the first model in Lumion with al the right setting and then save te Lumion model as a new name and use all the settings again and replace the old model with the new one (but it has to be on the exact same place).

This to create a before/after the build animation!

Is there a worktrough for this? I don`t know if it is possible anyway and how to do it if it is possible!?

yes it is possible.
easy work flow as Lumion has layers that you can turn on and off - old house on one layer - new house on a different layer.

Set them both up inside one Lumion scene.  Turn the old house off - turn the new house on - vice versa.

.....and that is just one way (although complexities could vary wildly).

of course this all depends on the "weight" of the models, the amount of texturing, memory on the graphics card, memory on the computer, etc, etc........  :)

what software are you using to build the models of the houses in?

Thanks a lot for the tips, I didn`t knew it was possible in Lumion (I`m a new user). But is good to hear that it is possible.

Now I`ve made the models in SU but I would like to make them later in Revit en export to fbx (I`m still testing a bit with that)

The models are not verry big yet and I`m also am a bit testing with the right textures. The graphics cards should be sufficient (GTX 480) and pc memory is 8 Gb.

What software are you using ? En what is your worktrough with texturing (In Lumion or other software?)

There is also a video effect, Hide Layers, so you can make several sequences and toggle the visibilities within a single render...handy if it's a slow render and you want to leave it overnight.

Actually, scratch my last post...just noticed there is a bug in the hide layers effect. You can work with it but you need to be very careful in the order of your sequences.
