P.S. I found it hard to add new materials to model after import to lumion specially in very complex model......

Can you explain in some more detail please.  Perhaps there's some things needed to make things easier.

edit:
topic split from Where Sketchup ends and Lumion Begins....

When use reload model and re apply materials new file sometime my material id was swap with eachother.
example :
1st - create House with wooden deck , brick wall , pool , metal railing in sketchup
2nd - export to collada file & import to lumion & apply material in lumion
( everything work fine here... )
3rd - I did add blue ceramic vase & red ceramic plate in the scene in sketchup (add 2 material to the scene)
4th - export to collada file
5th - use Reload model and re apply materials new file function in lumion
6th - my already assigned material was corrupt ... my wooden deck swap with brick wall  something like this..

It happen nearly all the time when add new material slot to the model in sketchup.

sorry I might not good at explanation but I didnt install lumion on my private cpu, will try to make some screenshort tomorrow at my work place :(

Hi Sangchoke

Thanks for the detailed steps and explanation.

As Stan mentions, if you are not using SkUp 8 then please update.

5th - use Reload model and re apply materials new file function in lumion

Just to confirm; you are using the new file reload each time?  So you are exporting from SkUp with a different file name each time and then use the Ctrl key for the button Reload Model and Reapply Materials New File?  That's for v3, for v2.5 Alt key.

Appreciate seeing some screenshots.

( sometimes just update model on the same name)
 - already using sketchup 8.

Will upload screenshot on a few hrs sry for delay..

hi, did you ever change a name of a colour already asigned in lumion? this would make it for lumion 'unasigned'.= new.

hi Zdenek Fajfrlik , I didnt change any material name all I do just add some chair ( with new material id ) and rotate some column & window in the scene...
I guess that all problem happen because new material id was assign on the scene ( in sketchup but not in lumion ) , then when re-import to the scene it went corrupted :(

It happen like these.....

all material in lumion was assign in the same place but seems like material id change ?

I don't recall any outstanding issues regarding materials like this in v2.5.

Adding objects to the model, and changing materials, or adding new materials should work as expected with new materials imported so the Lumion material slots retain their previous data.

It used to happen with the old SkUp exporter.

Are you using SkUp Free or Pro?  If using Free, presume you updated SkUp, or updated with the revised exporter they released?

hi peterm, you are right, i oversaw, that he is already using skp8. in that case,
such problems should not happen, since here the name of the colour is transfered in the collada export file and not the number.

but, i had problems sometimes, when i imported components in skp8, where the same names for a colour were defined, as already another colour in the model had,
then in lumion the colour sudenly was -for example - 'red_1' instead of 'red', so the material went lost in lumion ( it was very strange).
but i could not find the exact reason for that or reproduce permanently.

This change in SU 8 was only made in one of the maintenance releases of SU 8 - so if OP uses the very first SU 8 version, this can happen.

@Sangchoke: To make a check of what is happening: please, open your textures folder where the materials were exported along with the dae file and see what the material names are. If they are sometimg like material01.jpg (or texture01?) you still have the older version. In this case, please, try to update your SU 8 version. You can access the latest version (even the free) here: http://www.sketchup.com/download/all
