Material Colors vs Standard

Im not sure if this is discussed elswhere but i am having alot of trouble determining the best way to materialize in Sketchup for use in Lumion.

The problem is, there seems to be no way to adjust the color of materials UNLESS you use "color" material which has absolutely no attributes besides, well, color. Im not sure why you cant have a slider in the standard material that changes the HSB, Hue Saturation Black values.

as it stands now, i material brought in from sketchup that had no texture, just color value, comes into lumion but you cant give it any values associated with a standard material because as soon as you choose standard, the color goes away and you end up having to attach a texture to get color.

am i explaining this right? or am i missing something completely in the material interface??

i just cant select a material, give it reflecatnce, etc and change the hue all in one material.

what purpose does the "color" material serve if it cant have any bump, fresnal, reflection, etc??

- also, it would be very nice to be able to choose a lumion material for all of its great values that come out of the box and be able to simply slide a color bar to "colorize" the material to a different hue.

Hi Bob, this is just to confirm what you're saying, i.e. that it's currently not possible to tint the Standard material in Lumion (it has been requested a few times though).

The only materials you can tint are the Glass, Water and Color materials.

You have the options of black or white with the reflectance in the simple colors - it settles out that way.

Would be nice to have the same controls for all material options across the board be it just colors or materials or just bumps - is it possible?    simplify while expanding - like Apple.
