Hello guys,

I am new to Lumion and currently have the trial version.
I am importing a scene from 3ds max. however the maps aren't coming with it. I import a .max and FBX formats. none have work.

I also make sure I wasn't missing any maps and all maps are in the same folder root.

in the tutorials I am watching when they import a scene it comes with all the maps already applied.

What am I doing wrong?? Is it because i have trial version?

Please Help!

Hi gsandoval13, welcome. :)

Make sure that you convert all materials in the scene to Standard materials in 3DS Max. If you are using any other materials than the Standard material (eg, V-Ray, Arch & Design, MentalRay, Raytrace materials etc), the models will remain untextured in Lumion. V-Ray and MentalRay materials can be converted with this script.

Thanks for the reply!

No they are not Standard. I regularly use Vray material but in the specific scene I am using metal ray with Arch and Design and Autodesk Generic Materials.

Is this why? if this is the case is there a way of importing at least all the diffuse maps so that I don't have to re texture everything from scratch again?

see image attached.

Thanks!

Ah, that would be why then.

Unfortunately, you'll have to convert the materials to Standard materials for this to work... :-\
