Lunion 5 Educational Edition - File Saving and Backup

Hello - I have installed the educational version of Lumion 5 (free) but notice I cannot export files or save to a server as backup. Is there a way this can be enabled.

The files are only saved in the Lumion session on the desktop. As I need to be able to backup work on the server as students do loose their work and PCs crash this ability to save externally is really very important.

Thanks

Andrew Blake

Hi Andrew, in Lumion 5 (Normal as well as Educational) you can't export the entire scene as an LS5 file. Lumion Pro (Educational) however, can export LS5 files. The reason there is this distinction is that LS5 files can be opened in the Lumion Viewer for standalone walkthroughs, so this feature is only available in Lumion Pro.

Regarding the location that scenes and imported model files are saved in (and how to change this location), please read the first FAQ in this post.

Hi Andrew

An option is to use your organization's backup software, or install a file synchronization tool that can backup or create synchronized file copies from workstations to a server location.
