Hi All,
I waited untill lumion 2.2.1 test drive to comment on several issues of which pricing and whether lumion ultimate users have got a raw deal or not.
Reading through the posts by various users and responses from lumion team, I felt the same way as others that lumion has given ultimate users a raw deal.
Having gone through what the team has provided in lumion ultimate 2.2.1 free update, I feel lumion ultimate early adopters, still have a better deal. Technically speaking, lumion team has delivered a satisfactory free update to all. The confusion has been that this upgrade has been delivered at the same time as the new product, Lumion Ultimate Pro. The discontinuation of lumion ultimate by 1st June, should not worry the current ultimate users as the team has promised that the current owners will still enjoy the same benefits until lumion 3.0 and lumion 3.0 Pro are introduced towards the end of the year. I however, feel that the upgrade discounted special should be extended to say 1st July or 1st August 2012 as this change has only been communicated nearly mid-month, which implies that it is out of budget for many of us.
In addition to the above, I would like to comment that the price of 3000 Euros is definitely too steep for the new adopters. Lumion team should reconsider this as they might just price themselves out of the market with other competitors fighting for the same market.
That said, here are the new undiscovered features;
- there is i-grass in landscape paintable feature
- there are lots of new high quality books, dhl packaging, bed side lamps, lamps, TVs, bath
tubs, wash hand basins, faucets that have been newly added to the indoor library.
- there is a wheel chair with rotating wheels, bicycle with rotating wheels and other items that
have been added to the vehicle library.
- the plant library has indeed been re-organised with high quality trees. Lots of new palms have
been added together with other trees and plants.
- the terrain feature has been completely overhauled, thanks for this lumion, it is now a great
pleasure to paint pavements and grasses with existing and custom textures - 3DS max i-grass
seriously under threat on this one.
Once again, thanks to lumion team and to all lumion forum users for the contributions.
