Hi

I've imported a terrain map from google earth. When i bring it in to Lumion via .dea export/import, it downsamples the material i have for the terrain something terrible. In sketchup it looks very clear, but in Lumion it looks very blurry and terrible. How do i make it so the material is not downsampled upon import??

Thanks!

What is the actual size of the image in Sketchup?....have you brought it into PS to edit it?

If you select it as a standard material and then import the original you can get it to resolve in it's original size by holding the CTRL key as you open it.

The GE images are pretty small.....I usually increase there size by 3 to 4 times.

If you select it as a standard material and then import the original you can get it to resolve in it's original size by holding the CTRL key as you open it.
Just a small clarification: It's the CTRL key in Lumion 2.5 but the ALT key in Lumion 3+.

Edit Materials -> (ALT) + Reload Model button: If you import a model that uses over 100mb of texture memory, Lumion will cap the maximum texture resolution at 2048x2048 pixels. However, you can bypass this limit by pressing CTRL while you click on the Reload model button. If you apply a Standard or Lightmap material to your imported model, any texture you load will be loaded at whatever resolution your graphics card is capable of displaying (up to a maximum of 16384x16384 pixels).

Hi

Thanks for your responses. I tried to reload the model holding the 'alt' key but the materials are still very blurry; no improvement whatsoever. I have attached two images. The first is what my model looks like in sketchup before the export to Lumion. See how clear the image is? The second is what it looks like after i have imported into Lumion. Very blurry. All settings are set to the highest in Lumion. Any ideas why the material is still being downsampled?

Thanks!

Hi wbraasch, is 'Enable low mem compatibility' turned on or off in the Settings menu?

Hi

It was enabled. I turned it off and now the textures are at hi-resolution!

Thanks!

Good stuff, thanks for confirming that it works.

In the upcoming 3.0.2, the tooltip text for that button has been changed so that it explains exactly what the button does.
