Hi!

I have question about lumion competition.

There is small library in Lumion free version, so I was wondering can I use some free models from google warehouse?

Thank you!   :D

Hi

You need to use the Lumion Competition Version only, not the Lumion Free version.

Yes, you can use other models, so long as you have the right to use.

Thank you!

One more question....

Is music in video necessary? I mean is it affect the position if there is no music? |:(

Quoted from another thread:

Quote
The jury will look at a combination of technical and artistic features in your video. Your video will be judged on camera placement, camera movement, quality, beauty, style, innovation and originality.

I think what really matters is how you achieve and design your architectural visualization, since the software is about visuals it shouldn't matter, but a nice music to add to your video would give a more inviting mood and possibly get more attention to your video.

You can look up license-free music on the internet, some people are generous enough to provide copyright free music out there.

Goodluck!

Well said eliris.

It is not a requirement to have music.

I think I would use this thread instead of making a new one to ask a question.

If I'm still unsure of if I'll be able to fix my lumion and participate, can I still use my competition license in the forum so I can view some of the competition entrant's discussion?

Hello again :)

One more question!
Imagine your parents, renowned architects, are designing a dream home for a new customer.
The design is beautiful but the visualizations they made look terrible. Maybe the only way to get a nice presentation is to hire a professional artist. “Maybe I can help you!”, you say. “Ha! I would like to see you try” they reply. “It’s harder than you think.”

Fortunately, with Lumion it’s hardly a challenge. You rapidly load the design and start working on a visualization of the building.

It takes you minutes to assign materials, add a beautiful garden, people and even make sure your favorite car is parked on the driveway. Things already start to look very good.

this is how your text starts!

and in competiotion rules writes that I must use model that I made. So that means that I cant use model of my brother? My brither have model of small house, so I was thinking that I can use that. Or I must model again that model and it will be my than?

Hi joksy95, this is explained in the competition rules:

'The entrant’s video can be based on a model provided within the competition version of Lumion or a model made by the entrant themselves. It is also allowed to use 3rd party models as long as they are free to use and not subject to any royalties or other legal limitations of any kind.'

Hi joksy95, click here to read the license information.
I am not a lawyer but I am guessing this means you can use the music in the video that you upload to YouTube or Vimeo, provided that you 'give appropriate credit' and 'provide a link to the license'.

aha... cool then!

The only question that bothers me is do I use this song for comercial use? (do I publish this video for money, or just competition) Is there any diference?

and can I send you two videos? One with music and one without music, so it can be safe?

this music is realy opening my video, so it means a lot for me.

Thanks!

Hi

Your entry is a non-commercial action, even if you got money or equivalent of money as goods as part of one of the prizes.  Unless you make a living out of entering competitions.

Please send only one entry. Only one is permitted per person.  If there was any issue later about the music, we would sort that out then.

Just ensure you follow the CC license for the music as Morten mentions, re give credit etc.
