[Resolved] LUMION 7.5 trial texture problem

Good morning.

I am having some problems with Lumion.
After opening the problem i get several texture problems.
Example:"Wrong creation of texture", "Error not 2D texture" etc... I can't open the program and when it opens (after several errors) i can't see most scenes neither GUI icons and i have to close it
I have a Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, 24GB RAM, i7-3770 at 3.4GHz, NVIDIA GTX1060 OC 3GB
I can run 3DS max, Vray, After Effects, etc with no problem.
I have tried to force OpenGL rendering GPU to use only the graphic card but it didn't solved anything :(
All drivers are up to date, system and graphic card. I have reinstalled graphic card with updated drivers but it didn't made any difference.
I don't know what to do.
I have already followed LUMION guide "How do you install the latest system software required to run Lumion?" with no success

Can you help me with this? I have attached a directx error log

Thank you in advanced
best regards

Sorry to hear that, archric. :-\

That problem is usually resolved by installing the latest Nvidia driver version and all available Windows updates. However, you've obviously already done that.

1) What happens if you (physically) remove the cable from the GTX 1060 to the LG projector and only run Lumion on the Asus monitor?

2) Does it help if you disable the overclocking for the GTX 1060?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Morten
Thank you for your fast answer.
I tried all those options and still the same error :(
I even tried with anti-virus enabled and disabled just in case...nothing.
Internet enabled and disabled...nothing

Any more ideas? :)

Thank you!

1) Are there any "Failed" entries in the "Status" column of Windows Update History?
Control Panel -> Windows Update -> View Update History

2) Although hopefully unrelated, I noticed two LiveKernelEvents in your diagnostics report (also known as Windows BlueScreen errors which require a restart of Windows). Those are very serious issues that usually point to hardware problems. Do you remember when they occurred?

Hi Morten

- All updates are OK, no failed entries
- Never noticed any BSOD, could it be when i removed and reinstalled the graphic card? They are not timestamped so i don't actually know what it refers to...
- Performed a full anti-virus scan, system is clean
- Checked the device manager, no problems here too

I have tried to force OpenGL rendering GPU to use only the graphic card but it didn't solved anything :(

(Lumion uses DirectX 11, not OpenGL)

1) Can you describe where you were changing these settings?

2) Have you tried to restore the default settings in the Nvidia Control Panel?

3) If it isn't too much trouble, would it be possible to install CCleaner (Standard) and follow these instructions in order to send us a list of the installed applications on this PC? If so, please forward the list to [email protected] Thanks in advance.

1) NVIDIA Control panel > Manage 3D Settings (see screenshots attached with the current settings)
2) I tried just now and same errors occurred
3) Sure! I will email it

Hi archric

Thanks for the CCleaner file. Checking through that list.

In the meantime please do some general PC performance tests to see if those can tell us anything more about the 3D graphics on your system:
1. HWInfo (64 bit).  Summary Report, Video Adaptor Report (save as screencapture or full Report to txt file).
2.  PassMark PC Performance tool.

Followed by:
GPU Shark and stress test Furmark.

Also, please try running one or both of these benchmarks that test 3D graphics for DirectX 11:
1. Heaven (2009)
2. 3DMarks - Firestrike

Hi archric

You can defer those tests for now.

CCleaner lists the following piece of software: Autenticação.gov.pt   Agência para a Modernização Administrativa., along with Cartão de Cidadão Português.

Although it is a government authentication system, it somehow interferes or installs something that caused Lumion the same texture error problems for one other user recently.

Refer for details this topic: Lumion won't start properly after upgrade to 8

Although the user first did a Windows reinstall, the issue reappeared after installing the Autenticação software, and he was able to identify the above as the problem.

Do you have something similar with a 3.5" multicard reader with a ID Card slot?

The rest of the applications on your system look OK.

Hi Peterm

I am completely astonished by that! never in a million years i would guess that the government software + card reader was the culprit. I mean NEVER i can't even find the relation between the 2 software.

I have uninstalled it and it completely solved the problem  :o

Peterm I can't thank you enough for that i have been around this for days! Also, thank you Morten for your support.

Now its time to try the software  :)

Once again thank you!!
Best regards

Yippee  :), great news archric, that the problem has been found.  And you're welcome (on behalf of Morten)

Agree, very strange.  We don't know why, but now with two cases, confirmed, there is strong evidence that can be used towards getting a fix from somewhere  :-\

I'm not sure what you would need to do, if you do need that software again.  :-\

Enjoy getting to use the Trial.

By the way are you aware there are two Trial options?  Please also have a look at our Knowledge Base ArticleIs there a Demo or Trial version of Lumion?

I had the same problem, with the Portuguese government software plus card reader.
Without your help I never found the relation between both softwares.

Thank you lads.

Hi pedromcfalcao

You're welcome.  Good to know it has resolved the problem for you.

It's a very, very unusual problem and conflict.  There is not much we can (currently) do from our side.  However, as a customer of the card system, it would be helpful if you would contact them about the problem too.
