Hi stefflee12
Please follow the instructions in our FAQ topic:
NEED SUPPORT? on registering your license.
Lumion does have compatibility with Windows 10. We have a number of users that have upgraded or upgraded during pre-releases of Windows without problems.
I have also upgraded to Windows 10 today and have had no problems (with Lumion).
The message you get indicates a certain DirectX component that was there before the Windows upgrade is not being seen by Windows now. Please check the following first, and let us know, so that we can move to the next step if required.
1. Is your laptop using the NVIDIA drivers or is it still running the Windows default display drivers? Usually a reboot will return the NVIDIA drivers to run as default for the upgrade, however this might not happen in all cases.
2. Please check that you have an NVIDIA Control Panel running on the desktop, and that the Manage 3D Settings is set to the High Performance NVIDIA Processor. Refer:
this topic to set the correct GPU.
Although Lumion 5 will do an auto-detect to use the NVIDIA card, it is worthwhile still making sure that setting is in the NVIDIA profile.
By the way, the Geforce 840M has a Passmark of only 841, and that is
well below minimum specifications. Refer:
LUMION 5: Minimum hardware requirements. (same for prior versions).
Lumion Web Site: Specifications.
3. How long have you been running Lumion and what sort of scenes are you working on?
