I will wait until just before the release and hope that enough will be leaked for a decision.

This is an interesting thread and made me think about how I really want to fund Lumion. I have bought into Lumion and want to keep using it for the foreseeable future, with the investment so far I would have to use it for say 3 years at least before writing it off financially or maybe I could sell the licences if something else came along that was even greater. This is a possibility but Act selling it and it going to the dogs is probably the bigger danger for me.

Whatever the future brings, at the moment I am wedded to Lumion, even if I am underwhelmed by the feature set of version 3.0, which I very much doubt based on the efforts that the team have put in to date, I surely would have to pay significantly more if I wanted to upgrade to the features found in version 4.0. Should I run this risk or should I ask for a less painful way of keeping up to date?

This brings me inexorably to the subscription system that the likes of Autodesk and Adobe have moved to. I thing that a monthly sub or an annual one, together with a discount for paying three years in advance, as Autodesk offer, is an option that I would welcome. When one has a challenging year we could pay monthly, if we had a bumper year we could pay three years up front.

What do you make of that? It this financially savvy or just a fan boy waiting for the latest tweaks the team throws to us?

Hi Lumion team, I hope the version 3, meets expectations, the team's hard work, but like fellow forum should anticipate a scheme with new features, improvements and innovations.
In our case, I hope some progress in the field of terrain modeling. We are faithful followers of Lumion, with great effort my organization has updated the software, as queeste advances and tools have always demanded more accurate terrain modeling with current (brushes with smaller sizes varied and detailed), similar to zbrush , or at least some of its main tools. As before, I have to congratulate you on the achievements so far, but I am quite sure that with advances in Lumion terrain modeling would expand its market in other fields. Lumion, in its new version 3, and has a cost high enough to cover other needs, different architecture.

Our interest and desire is constructive criticism, to get the best of Lumion. Therefore, we hope not to disturb anyone.

Best regards,
Severino

Hi all

When you are on a boat that sails, or you jump from the boat or you continuous the navigation. The rest you can tell it to the seagulls.

Therefore I make a summary

699 € in September,  799 € in December,   999 € in January

It is merely an operation of profitability

If I buy with closed eyes, I save 300 € but If I buy with opened eyes I am going to be very badly in January.

All that to say that I remain on the boat because the seagulls listened  nothing at all your commentaries.

And if you jump a journey, the next journey  will be  even more expensive. That follows the curve of oil.

Confess  that it’s like a drug and you are already tear.  To delay the new injection It’s going to be hard.

Don't be afraid if you close your  eyes , because I am not the driver, I am only a passenger with a poor English level.

Best regards

The upgrade page shows major version 2 to major version 3.
In 2.5, the major version is 2. Minor upgrades are free (2.0 to 2.5 for instance), major versions (2.5 to 3.0) require an upgrade fee.

ok, but then i really would like to know, if any of those wishes and ideas, we write down, are already implemented, since this may be an important factor for the decision.

there is , for example, the definitive wishlist section  and lots of re wishes in the forum.

could you not simply make a table and say : yes, no yes yes yes......i mean, 3 month before official release a software company normaly knows all features already....

This is something they never do until they are certain that they can squeeze into a new version. Lesson learned: in the past, there were hints of (possible) future feature and when users' expectations weren't met, they were pissed off. So no, they cannot reveal everything they are planning. If everything would already be certain (developed, tested and correctly working), they could release the new version today.

Now for instance clouds casting shadows and the ability to fly through them has been requested (even "faked" workarounds posted on the forums) so this is something users have wished. The same with saving/reapplying custom materials (now already in 2.5) which was a MAJOR step IMO.

I press F5 all the time on the preview page. ;)

Well, my hope is a better / more integrated / precise / etc. terrain import. I need a terrain (I have modelled) to be imported and so accurately (no 200m grey-scale) that I can run a creek in there. And still behave as Lumion terrain (maybe even sculptable but definitely not plants falling below). Etc... etc...

Hopefully one day...

Hi Morten,  can you confirm that we will still be able to use all versions starting from Lumion 1 to Lumion 3, on a single computer.

(That's a question for Arthur who is in charge of licensing)

Same as september.

Hi, Remko. My first impression was that the early bird price was for september only. Could you please confirm that the same price applies for october?

If I understand correctly, the Pro upgrade would be:

Until october 31st: € 699
From november 1st to december 31st: € 799
From january 1st: € 999
