Not the first format that comes to mind for textures. For example currently I have no software that produces MP4 other than Lumion.

Use Handbrake. It's free, accepts any video as input, and the output is a standard .mp4 file.

If you have an image sequence instead of a video, first convert it to video with VirtualDub.

I'm very sorry but I haven't got time to reply to all your questions, and you guys are obviously also spending a lot of your time trying to second-guess how new functions will work.

Every time I reply to forum posts, it unfortunately means fewer sounds in the built-in Sound Library, fewer models in the built-in Model Library and more bugs in the final version (as I have less time to help with the beta testing).

So please be patient and wait for more information to be made public :)

Thanks, I tried Gaieus' method and it works perfectly (just choose "none" for tuning as it changes the colors).

Freemake is a video conversion software that works great.  I have used it to rip my own dvd's for use on my mobile devices.  And, well...it is free.  http://www.freemake.com/

It is the number one standard video format and widely supported. It is not primarily for 'textures', but for adding animations (e.g. video) to your scene.

Actually it's Miguel's (Ecuadorian's) method if you look at the original poster.

Then thanks to both of you  :) . However the output crashes Lumion a lot, don't know if it is a general problem or specific to this codec.

So Lumion crashes when you try to render an MP4!?

I don't recall any bug reports like that before (unless the hardware did not meet the minimum requirements for running Lumion).

We take crashes extremely seriously, so I'd be grateful if you could post more details in the Bug section of the forum, so we can investigate your report as soon as possible.

Hi Morten, Lumion crashes if you use the output from the above mentioned codec as an input (movie from file) in the movie editor. I will post how to reproduce it in the bugs section.

Looking back through the list of new features again - Lumion3 looks like a huge step forward. Can't wait to start testing it out, great work all round and congratulations.

If you guys make visualisation any easier, some of us full-time illustrators are gonna be out of work!! ;)

I disagree :D
I think if Lumion makes  real-estate buyers/builders in the whole world expect to see walk-through videos of all projects, from garages to sky scrapers, then the demand for visualization will be so much increased you will probably get even more work ;)
