LS2 EXPORTED FILES & LUMION FREE

Hi everyone,

the new Lumion Pro 2.2 version can export ls2-files. These files can be launched by doubleclick and lumion starts in a "viewer-mode" (nice feature). This works fine with a Lumion Pro (with deativated license), but Ferry explains in the "Whats new in Lumion 2.2"-video, that clients also can start the ls2-scenes with a Lumion Free version. I tried it on a several mashines, where only Lumion Free were installed, but Lumion Free didn`t start i got the error message "It seems that Quest3D is not correctly installed or this viewer is run from the wrong directory".

Is there a special Lumion Viewer Exe-File, where i have to link these files to or did anyone else had the same problems while trying to open this files with the Free-version?

Michael

Hi Michael, please check your inbox.

Can u please explain further this argument? because i am really curious about this program and i am going to make my university buy it. thank you.

Btw, do you have any tutorial in pdf about quest3d? because i know that lumion and quest are strictly related.

Thank you
Nicola

Hi Nicola, S2 files are full scene files that can be exported from Lumion Pro. These files can be inspected in any of the other versions by double-clicking on the LS2 file on a PC with a Lumion installation, but you can't edit an LS2 file unless you have Lumion Pro.

The reason I asked Michael to check his inbox is that the current public version of Lumion Free is too old to include the LS2 functionality, and you need a newer version for that.

We are currently beta testing a new update, so if you do need to inspect an LS2 file, it's best to wait for that version to be released.

I only work on Lumion, so you'll probably get a more qualified reply over here:

As soon as possible. There will also be an announcement regarding educational versions of Lumion :)
