I use Lenovo Thinkpad W510 with specs as mentioned below :
Intel Core i7-720QM 1.60 GHz
500 GB Hard Disk Drive
8GB PC3-8500 DDR3 SDRAM 1067MHz SODIMM Memory
NVIDIA Quadro FX 880M Graphics with 1GB DDR3 memory
Windows 7 Professional 64

Lumion runs smoothly there, no glitch whatsoever. and it works fast.

From a performance point of view, running Lumion on an AMD Radeon HD 6970M should not be a problem at all:

http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-AMD-Radeon-HD-6970M-Graphics-Card.44438.0.html

Just make sure that the 2GB graphics card memory consists of one 2GB module, not two 1GB modules.

Lumion can only use one of the ram modules.  You would be wasting 1 gb of gpu memory.

Hi ! which video card do you think is better, the 2GB GDDR5 NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 580M or the 2GB GDDR5 AMD Radeon HD 6990M, which one would you personally recommend? they both claim to be the fastest video card for laptops !

The laptop will work but remember that there is a big performance difference between 3d cards in  a laptop and a desktop.
