Hi Everyone,
We need advice on the fastest laptop that can run revit and lumion models. We damaged our PC transporting on a flight it to do a presentation. We need a portable computer that can allow us to fly through our models (large topo sites with multiple buildings and lots of landscaping) live with our clients and make changes while they sit with us. We find the refresh rate on most laptops creates frustrating delays as they don't have the graphic have the memory, speed and power we need. Is there a company who can make a special laptop like this.
Thanks

Alienware is famous for strong gaming laptops - http://www.alienware.com/
The biggest model has a 18,4" screen and an optional Dual NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX
880M graphics with 16GB.

I think this should also work good with Lumion.

Hi onsiteengineeringservices

The two top contenders are Alienware or MSI. Asus also have some to look at.

Please also search for recent topics on laptops in the forum where some further detail and discussion of options can be found.

The Alienware 18 as mentioned by chopsuey is two GPU's in SLI to get the 16GB VRAM.  Lumion can only access the one GPU, so the other is only suitable for other applications.  8 GB VRAM however is considered plenty for Lumion (although you can never have enough  :-D)

If budget is no problem then the GTX 880M is top of the line for the GPU.  Note performance of a laptop GPU, even the most recent, are always well below that of the desktop equivalent (compare Passmarks)

2.  Passmark: Videocard Benchmarks.
