Issue with camera in build mode

Hello guys.
Can someone help me with this issue?

I've imported a huge model in which I need to make a walk-through entering and exiting different rooms etc.
I experience something like a bug in the clipping (cutting) plane in build mode (similar problem has 3DMAX sometimes when the scale of the project is vast). Unfortunately this cutting plane makes the same problem in image and flythrough mode.

I have attached an image showing this issue.
Any ideas?

I've read through the info in your FAQ section and cannot find an answer there.

I'm using Lumion 5.3 Demo.
Is there something I'm missing from the requirements to post here?

Hi imminerva

It's difficult to determine anything much form the image provided in earlier post.  Please do a screencapture in Build Mode showing the full Lumion window, scene and Clipping Plane, so can see positioning of plane.

Also what file and system units were used in 3ds Max?

Hi imminerva, in previous versions of Lumion, overlapping models would start to flicker when people moved the camera higher up. The solution (which many people didn't know existed) was to apply a Camera clip plane effect and adjust the near clipping plane until the flickering stopped.

In Lumion 3, a decision was made to try to fix this problem more or less automatically, so the 'near' camera clip plane value now automatically increases as you move the camera further up, above the Lumion terrain. This works well for the majority of scenes, but not for scenes with skyscrapers for example, or scenes where the imported terrain and scene is high above the Lumion terrain.

I'm guessing the latter is the case in your scene?

If so, the solution is to add New effect -> Camera tab -> Near clip plane effect and adjust the Near clip plane value manually.

Alternatively, you should move your models closer to the Lumion terrain below.

This is exactly the case Morten and thanks a lot for the thorough explanation. My model is a huuuge terrain which varies in height a lot.

So I myself was suspecting that the higher I go in Lumion the more of this bug will be present.

Anyway thanks a lot again to both of you.
