Instant stop when panning and zooming

When panning or zooming, is there away to make the motion stop instantly. When I pan or zoom in or out there is always a deceleration before coming to a full stop.

Yes.

1. Zoom in at high speed
2. While still zooming smash the computer with a large sledge hammer.
3. Instant Stop Activated.

Hi andrewpage

So ...; answer is no.

It decelerates very quickly, though.  Is it a problem or just curious?  The speed in navigation was reviewed for v3 and adjustments made to things for both Build Mode, and also in Movie Mode where sometimes it was difficult to get an exact camera position.  The changes seem to have worked well.

RAD: quickest way to stop it:  turn off the screen  :-D   :o

Only works if you are rendering an image sequence, if you are rendering an MP4 file it will be corrupted.

Since Lumion doesn't have the ability to either place cameras in the scene or an orthogonal view, positioning camera view is a precise location is quite difficult if there isn't an instant stop. Camera tends to feed off even if you zoom slowly. It's not a big issue, but if it could stop instantly, it would make placing views a bit easier.

Actually, I'll check with the dev team about deceleration in v3 for Build as well as the other modes.

One of the changes made was for the camera to move in much smaller increments for each key press.

Using quick key presses will let the camera travel in those small distances.

In Photo and Movie Mode I can't see any deceleration of the camera, (at least in the scenes I have taken a look at).

If even a more exact view is required, then the Focal Length slider (zoom) will work; use the slider with the Shift key to get very, very small increments in position.

Hi andrewpage, there are 4 different camera speeds in addition to the instant Teleport function.

Here's a summary from the Tips, Tricks and Shortcuts FAQ post:

(Spacebar) + (W/S/A/D/Q/E): Very slow camera
(W/S/A/D/Q/E): Normal speed camera
(Shift) + (W/S/A/D/Q/E): Fast camera
(Shift) + (Spacebar) + (W/S/A/D/Q/E): Very fast camera

Is (Spacebar) + (W/S/A/D/Q/E) not allowing you to move the camera with enough precision?

+1 for some more general user choices  for the ui (there are surely enough wishes in the forum)

means: you like the decelaration, keep it,
if you don't , make it default off.
this would not male the ui more complicated, but some people really happy.......

for example: wha not having user defined shortcuts? there can't be any rational reason against it, can it? (for example, if i am handicaped on my left hand, a fully different usage of a keyboard by the left hand is necessary....)
