Hi,

I install Lumion and wonder version?

I check version number
Right click lumion.exe
Properties...
I click Details ...
I see version (like winword.exe) but yours no have version ???

Hi.

The version number is shown on the 'Settings' screen in Lumion, so just double-click on the 'Lumion.exe' file in the Lumion installation folder to start Lumion.

Alternatively, you can see which version it is in the list of installed programs in Windows.

Sorry but the version number is not available in the file properties of 'Lumion.exe.

Can you retrieve the version number from the installation folder name?

Please provide us with a screenshot of the Lumion Setting window showing the version.  See our Knowledge Base Article:  What version of Lumion are you using?  See Where Can I Find the Lumion Product and Version Details

If it is the public Trial, then if you rename the folder to Lumion 7.5 Trial will that work?

Ok, thanks so its the 7.5 Trial.

You can try renaming the folder as I mentioned, or uninstall and reinstall the Trial, but make sure that the folder name includes the version number.

If the server script only looks at the Lumion.exe then I'm afraid that's a problem.  Can the server side script be amended.  What happens if the server script cannot identify the version?

Hi....

This is Doug... I work with Mlee ... I see there is a little communication problem.

Our problem is this... we have a server side script that runs at night... it inventories software based on the executable name of software on the disk and reports that inventory back for purchases.

Our script has been working wonderfully for the past 5 years... until one of our users installed Lumion.exe.
Now we have an empty string for version.

Secondly... some of our users install their software strictly sticking to "suggested install paths"... and some like to be more ... let's just say... "artistic" in their disk structure.... which is why we just sniff the entire disk for exe's ... instead of relying on version numbers ~anywhere~ else ... up until now... it works on every exe we have come across.

With that said... your executable is really not "playing by the common windows rule of having a version number"...
Is there a way you can put that in?
