iMac Boot camp partition space?

Hi there,

Lumion looks amazing! As I am working on a iMac, and have read some posts on the 'Mac' topics, I was just wondering if the minimum requirement of 6GB for running Windows 7 corresponds to the 'partition space' I can divide when splitting the disk space with Boot Camp. At the moment I have Boot Camp Assistant Version 3.0.4 (325) on my iMac but have not yet made any partition to install Windows 7.

Can someone recommend me the best 'set up' to use Lumion on my iMac...before I do something I might regret later on! Thanx! in advance!  ;)

My iMAc specs:
27' 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7
Capacity: 1 TB
16 GB memory
AMD Radeon HD 6970M

Hi Jeri, the Lumion installation including all materials and models requires about 6GB of harddisk space - however, this will increase in Lumion 3.0 due to expanding asset libraries.

In addition, Lumion saves all scenes and imported models on the Windows partition in a hard-coded location (User/My Documents/Lumion 2).

If you make many scenes and import a lot of models, you will find that you're going to need a lot of space for that (unless you constantly moves scene/imported files that you aren't using). As an example, my Lumion 2 scene/library folders take up over 9GB.

On top of that comes the Windows 7 operating system which according to Microsoft requires something in the region of 20GB to be on the safe side.

Hi Morten,

Thank you for your reply. So around 80 GB should do the trick you think?

That depends on how many scenes/imported library files you want to store on your Windows partition.

You have 1TB in total, so I guess it's better to have too much space than too little on your Windows partition :)

Yeah you're right, better be on the save side and take a bite more.
Thank you for taking the time to help me on this subject. Much appreciated!!!
