Hi friends!

I am trying for a couple days to insert a kind of light inside a type of crown molding with the final result like of the attached image (bellow). I've tried to make that with omni lights, with emissive lights and a hundred of other ways and, by now, I did not discover how to do that. Someone from this forum know how can we do that?

Thanks in advance!  :-P

Hi cacoportela

It's not too hard, but does take a few steps to accomplish.  Which version of Lumion are you using?

Ah, OK cacoportela.

Some users do use lights but it does not provide the best result.  Cove/Linear lights has also been suggested by members and is on the wishlists.

Most members use a non-spotlight (work-around) method to emulate the light using an emissive material.  You need to create a gradient (black and white) texture in an image editor (such as Photoshop), apply that texture in your 3D modelling application to the surface, set the surface in Lumion to a Standard Material and then set it's Emissive.  The Emissive will then brighten the white of the gradient, giving you that faded out lighting look.

There are some detailed steps available but those are by members in the Commercial Section of the forum, which unfortunately you do not have access to.

Here's a topic in the Guest Section of the forum you should be able to use: Linear lights.

If you are seriously interested in Lumion, you can apply/request a 7 day Trial version from your local reseller
