How can i use my tablet (iPAD) on Lumion?

Can i use my tablet (iPAD 4) to navegate, orbit and walkthrough Lumion? How can i do this? I am trying the free version looking foward to purchase the Pro Lumion hoping my clients can interact with the 3D in a 60" TV.

I've already tried iPad apps like remote mouses or remote desktops but i didn't have good results, even when the "tablet device" was on at Lumion settings.

Thanks,...

Hi castrocosta

The iPAD 4 or any other tablet is not able to run Lumion.  Lumion requires much more substantial performance than available in current pad/tablet configurations.  You can however play videos in MP4 format as well as showing images rendered by Lumion.

Please see:
1.  LUMION 3: Minimum hardware requirements

2.  Lumion Web Site: Specifications

3.  Passmark: Videocard Benchmarks

Lumion is Windows based, but does work with a Mac but it requires Bootcamp and at very least, meet the minimum for a GPU per specs.  Remote desktop is not supported for Lumion.

Lumion is a GPU intensive, real-time 3D environment.  As such it requires a good desktop/workstation or higher spec laptop as well as a dedicated GPU.  Please also browse some of the forum topics as there are a number of topics which may help in getting an idea of requirements for Lumion.

hi peterm,
i think, the question should not be how to run lumion on the ipad itself (which surely would not work), but using the ipad for 3d controll (like some concepts for sketchup) with some finger conrolls on the touch screen (zoom, move, turn etc, select saved views or videos)
in combination with a powerful pc and a screen.
i don't know, if the (very painful) limitations of the ipad would allow direct controll thru wlan, but the idea is not bad at all...
regards stan

Oh,  :-o apologies, misinterpreted the question, was wondering about the remote mouse  ::).

Interesting question, that would be one very cool way to connect users to the content in Lumion  :-9.

Will see if dev have had a chance to play/test such options; however they are very heavily in Lumion v4 work at present.

Seems like apps such as remote mouse should work well as they are just emulating the devices.

I take it you were able to use it to some extent, just not well enough to get "good results".  Did the app work better with other applications, do the Windows settings require some adjustment?

There used to be an open source generic device library that allowed users to talk to a range of devices without need to specific interfaces, however I do not know if that is still around.

What was your set-up in terms of connection to the PC, via wireless to network?

Wonder also if maybe something like the Surface Pro Slate Tablet might have a more standard connectivity feature.

I tried working with this app you mentioned above, it didn't work well on Lumion, i could zoom very slowly, not normal, fast and precisely like your mouse, and i couldn't orbit or walkthrough, but i'm trying differents apps, all via wireless. I am going to reserve this next weekend trying to resolve it. Hope i can success and bring something here that everyone can use.

thanks,..
