I think is completaly out of place to say that "we are abusing Lumion Rules" since we have always insert corespondant credit.
Hi Pablo, if you read my post again I actually said: "...if other Lumion FREE users (not you obviously ) continue to abuse the rules..."
In addition, I thanked you for being one of the few honest Lumion FREE
users but maybe this was lost in translation.
Let me explain why we try to enforce the watermark rule:
In the past our paying customers have complained over the fact that Lumion FREE
provides users like you with a lot of features and too few restrictions. For that reason, we have to at least make people aware of the rules, and one of those rules is to display the Lumion FREE
logo (which is similar to how it works in certain other 3D programs).
Also, our company is very small (there's just 9 of us) so we have to try and protect the products by listening to our customers while at the same time making it possible for people like you to evaluate Lumion before buying it. It's a fine line, and it's perfectly possible that there is a better solution to this problem than what is currently implemented/enforced.
If you have any good ideas, we are very much willing to listen to you. Just bear in mind that the customers who pay for the development of Lumion always will be our first priority.
My boss was pretty upset by your atitude. Also to tell you that he has suported Revit and other Autodesk products in order to introduce them at the various Universities he teach.
I don't know if you are aware of this but we actually offer educational versions of Lumion
and Lumion Pro
. These versions mirror the feature set in Lumion
and Lumion PRO
but have got more discreet watermarks:http://lumion3d.com/educational-specifications/Lumion EDUCATIONAL
is free for educational institutions and the watermark is less noticeable in this version. Its feature set is the same as in Lumion
.Lumion EDUCATIONAL PRO
which costs €299 (ex VAT) only has a tiny line of text in the top left corner that says that it's not for commercial use. Its feature set is identical to Lumion PRO
You have to understand that if you ever want to introduce Lumion to non first world Country, you will have to have a more colaborative atitude. My boss was pariculate upset by your pricing. We do have a very comprenhensive colaboration with Autodesk.nthir pricing are diferent at various Countries...
I agree that regional pricing would make Lumion more affordable in many non-first world countries, and my bosses have discussed this option in the past, but I don't know if this will materialise at some point.
Also ane for your information: we DID NOT USE LUMION to sell any project. Casa CorManca project was already built at 80% constructed, when i wanted to introduce LUMION to my boss, but now i regret it...
Don't worry, I know it's not a commercial project. But you mentioned that this was just a test video, and what I don't understand is that if it's just a test for evaluating/showcasing Lumion for your boss, why can't you display the watermark/Lumion logo?
