hello morton,

i think about updating to pro and tried to render with sound from your example model villa wegner, but it doesnt work: no sound export just stillness
and you know i mean that kind of sound changing from loud to low and changing to another sound when you move from the water to the forest: is this possible with sound while exporting the movie to a mp4? do i still have dolby surround sound??from left to right something like this..

then: can i export surround sound to for example after effects?
i only found few movies with lumion sound in youtube? why? i think it s just the best about pro version: but only if you can export this sounds to mp4!

yet i didnt find examples on youtube that convinced me, only boring music which sounds like drama from titanic...lol
and i couldnt export a movie from the example project villa wegner from normal version i have.

best regards
ralf

Hi ralph2d2

Exactly which version do you have?

Sound is exported only in the Pro version.  Refer: Lumion Web Site: Specifications

and you know i mean that kind of sound changing from loud to low and changing to another sound when you move from the water to the forest: is this possible with sound while exporting the movie to a mp4? do i still have dolby surround sound??from left to right something like this..

Sound is either FX from 3d sound positions in the scene (left-right-distance), or for music in quality formats supported by the wav file used (not sure if wav supports higher than stereo).  Dolby like, but not Dolby (that's a very specific system).

Output from Lumion as an MP4 uses H.264/AVC so sound is MPEG-2/4 and can be either mono, stereo or 3/2-LFE 5.1 Surround.  However, the channels supported in Lumion for output (as tested) are 48k 16bit 2 channel, so stereo.  Will need to check with dev team about any surround support above stereo. (edit: no, just stereo)

Attached quick no high fidelity stuff video, from sample Lumion scene examples the panning for left-right 3D surround.

Of course any audio can be post-production with FX and Dolby etc as needed once Lumion has rendered the video.  ;)

hello peterm,

i have 3.0 and 3.2 installed, normal version.
thanks for the example file,
is it possible to get just one simple file with for example:

on the left side: birds
on the right side: water

i tested your file in after effects: seems to work...but the difference from right to left are nearly not hearable...
but there is a good chance to export the surround sound to every format as long i can see at the moment in the after effects menues options..

best regards ralf

laptop medion with gtx 680m is still working like hell.
the only bad thing is windows 8: never take this one!

i have 3.0 and 3.2 installed, normal version.

Is that Lumion or Lumion Free?

on the left side: birds
on the right side: water

As attached, ducks on right, water middled, people left.

i tested your file in after effects: seems to work...but the difference from right to left are nearly not hearable...

Oh, because it seemed to be quite clear in the video playback with panning from left to right of the wave sound.

3D sound will give you positional changes as left to right pan and volume change over distance.

At end of day if you are looking for sound fx with dramatics etc, then 2.1/5.1 or Dolby added as post-production would be the way to go, as that's a separate design/create/edit process for sound.

hello peterm,
surround sound works very good exporting it  into after effects, you can also set left and right speakers seperately up and down....

Hi ralph2d2

Great to hear (pun intended)   :-D.

Will look forward to seeing, and hearing, some of your renders and post-sound work.  Time to turn stereo on and up.

ps: edited my earlier post: re no 5.1 support, just stereo channel output from Lumion.

hello peter, yes it works very ggod you see in thermal bath tyumen finished projects....although you never have a good experience with videos through internet, but with a good beamer and speakers it s really very good!...
i can tell the clients like it very much...
only critics:some more sounds would be nice especially water sound without birds... })
