Hi, I've been evaluating 2.5 free for the last few days and am really happy with what it does. Today i worked and solved an import issue I was looking at. (My obj's were comming in small. I have export options to scale my obj output, which solves this. Can anyone tell me about the internal/native units Lumion is looking for/working with? At this point, I am just using a scale factor of 10. Best to know exactly what it should be.)

I'm pretty sure I'll purchase it within 1 to 3 months. I'll have to start with standard because my current system is using a quadro 5600 video card. Everything works, but I have read and will plan on a GTX 680 4 gig card in a new system. Did I read that SLI is not being supported or used, so a dual 680 wouldnt add much? Maybe if there are plans, I should get that anyway for a future version?

I would eventually get the Pro as i like the idea of "realtime playback" via lumion free, for transport to a presentation site (Obviously, this would be without the watermark?)

Anyway, I think this is a great product and hope to own a commercial license sooner than later! Thanks,

Hey Burr, the internal unit in Lumion is meters but feet/inches should also work fine. I don't know what 3D modelling application you're using, but I would recommend that you write a new post in the Import & Export Advice section of the forum, so that Artur, our import/export guru, can investigate your workflow and your OBJ files.

You're right, dual GPUs do not result in faster performance/render times in Lumion, so the GTX 680 with as much RAM as you can afford is currently your best option. There are rumours circulating about new GTX 780s at the moment (after the Nvidia GTX Titan was announced), so the price of 680s should hopefully drop a bit in the not too distant future.

Lumion Free 3 has not yet been released, but the plan is to create a new dedicated viewer application. There's more information here:
