[Resolved] error message after installing on windows 10

my laptop is an Aliernware 17R with navidia graphics that was running lumion demo 5.3 with windows 8. When I upgraded to windows 10, I reinstalled lumion 5.3 since it would not migrate with the upgrade. The program will not open, I get a windows error message (Lumion.exe-Entry Point Not Found) the message reads, (The procedure entry point_crtCreateSymbolicLinkW could not be located in the dynamic link library, C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\MSVCP110.dll)  is there a fix for this?

Hi Timothy, welcome to the Lumion Support Forum.

This issue is most likely easily resolved.

Please try this:

1. Control Panel > Programs & Features (add/remove programs) > first look for Microsoft Visual C ++ 2012 x64 > right click > change (not remove/uninstall).

2. A window will pop up > choose repair.

3. The Microsoft Visual C ++ 2012 x64 will be repaired > finish
 
4. Then look for Microsoft Visual C ++ 2012 x86 > right click > change (not remove/uninstall).

5. A window will pop up > choose repair.

6. The Microsoft Visual C ++ 2012 x86 will be repaired > when finished it will ask for a reboot/restart.

7. You should also try same steps for any other Microsoft Visual C ++ versions and for both x64 and x86.

8. Try to start Lumion 5.3 Demo again.

Thank you, that repair worked, I do not have x86 version on my computer, only the x64 version, did the repair and Lumion opened right away, thanks
