Hi ralf
re layers:
The Layers Effects in Lumion work slightly different than on/off switches and layers in other modelling applications such as SkUp.
Hide Layer Effect is much the same - hide a specific layer, same as hide layer in Build Mode.
Show Layer Effect was designed specifically to show phases or the different stages of the construction of a building.
So it is not like a switch to turn viewing of individual layers collectively on, such as two specific layers. The layer selected is the only layer to show, so the other layers are auto-hidden (excluding default 0 layer of course). You will note that only one Show Layer Effect can be used per clip, whereas its possible to have multiple Hide Layer Effects.

re colour saturation:
Some of the Lumion Library objects can have some of their properties edited, for example cars, where their colour and brightness is adjusted by using the select object --> Edit Properties and changing the Brightness/Intensity and/or the Overbright slider values.
However, for plants you are not able to edit such properties. So it is not possible to change the saturation of specific objects. For Plants, adjusting saturation has been asked for by other users and is on the Wishlist.
The option, but it affects everything in the scene, could be to use the correction effects to tweak saturation using Selective Saturation Effect, Color Correction Effect.
