Doubts about generating videos and file transfer

Dear Gentleman:

We are testing the Lumion 2.1 build in its free version, and we are interested to  buy the software  Lumion, but making a video of 2.34 minutes (as a test), it was very slow:

-   The process time was 13.5 hours
-   Velocity of the video 30 photograms/sec.
-   Velocity of data 11405 Kbps
-   Velocity of bit total 11405 Kbps
-   Size : 1280 x 720

We have a video card: AMD Radeon HD 7570 with 1 GB.
Our computer has a: Processor: Intel® Core™ i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40 GHz
Memory (RAM): 16 GB with Windows 7

If we buy the system will it be the same velocity or will it take the same time to do a similar job? Or it will be faster?  How much?

Is my video card OK? Or do you recommend changing it? If we change it to for example: GeForce GTX 780 NVIDIA GeForce, will it reduce the process time for making the video?

I´m working with AutoCAD 2013 using format FBX to export to Lumion.

Is there an plug-in so we can be able to export the DWG files to DAE?

Render times are highly dependent on video cards.

I run a Radeon 7970, and it works great and I never get unrealistic render times.

Everything else about your system seems good, though.

As for your other question, I use Sketchup, so no help with the exports...

To get a good idea of render times that current users have with their projects, just check out the Featured Projects section of the forum. All the posts there are of a high quality, and have computer information and render times listed.

Thank you for your information, so I think i will change my video card.

Hi Alexyandro

As you have decided to change GPU which is good, the following is added for further info .

The Radeon HD 7570 only has a Passmark of 976.  That is well below minimum recommended specs for the GPU.

Please refer:
1.  LUMION 3: Minimum hardware requirements:
LUMION 3: Minimum hardware requirements

2.  Lumion Web Site: Specifications:
Lumion Web Site: Specifications

3.  Passmark: Videocard Benchmarks
Passmark: Videocard Benchmarks

Scene requirements and complexity are an important factor to consider.

Factors such as: what are the expectations in terms of types of projects/scenes, size/areas of scenes, amount of detail required in the scene, speed of rendering, level of quality, what is the client base, likely timeframes and architectural visualization demands, and, what is the architectural pipeline.

We are testing the Lumion 2.1 build in its free version,...
Presume that was typo and you mean Lumion 3.1, in any case please get the latest Free version which is now v3.2.1.

The Free version has the same features and performance as the licensed Lumion (standard) version, just less content, so you can use it to test with.

The GTX 780 or Titan are currently top performers, and you would get noticeable reductions in render times compared to your current GPU.  The more VRAM the GPU has the better as this helps in processing textures, resulting in the ability to handle larger scenes and better performance.

If not done so, please also search the forum for other topics for guidance to users on hardware platforms.

Lumion has direct import of DWG/DXF files.  Please see Lumion Web Site: Specifications.  How well the models import will depend on a range of factors including complexity of model, but there are often workarounds to help and get things working in Lumion.

change my video card, now I have a GeForce GTX 780, we are 1 minute x 40 minutes of video time average quality, improved by 7 or 8 times more.
I appreciate your advice.

 :-9   :)

Can you also post a copy of your Benchmark results to the Benchmark topic, thanks.
