Hi,

Is there an address for the download manager that I can give to my IT dept to unblock?

Cheers,

C

Hi C., welcome. :)

Sorry to hear that the Download Manager isn't working for you.

Please read this if you can't download the Download Manager when you click on the link in the email:
Please forward the email to [email protected], so we can take a look. Please also let us know which internet browser you're using. Thanks in advance.

Please read this if you get an error when running the Download Manager:
In all previous cases over the past 7 years, the reason for this problem has been too restrictive anti-virus/firewall software - or a lack of Windows permissions - or too restrictive network router settings.

Please follow these instructions - if you haven't already done so (the information you need to forward to your IT department is also listed there):

Knowledge Base article: Why is the Download Manager not working?

If it still doesn't work after following the instructions, we would recommend that you run the Download Manager on a computer outside the office network, and then transfer the installation files to the relevant computers.

Let us know how you get on.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Thanks for this.

I have followed the advice after trying 3 times to transfer the files from a download outside of my organisation.

The setup has installed, but I now get the error 'Invalid Key' and retry does not seem to work.

Any advice much appreciated.  :-D

Hi C.

Sounds like either one of the required files for install, or for running Lumion has been blocked or deleted.  This can happen, again for the reasons Morten mentioned about AV software.

Before some further suggestions can I check which version of Lumion are you trying to use?

Hi Peter,

I am trying to run the trial.

The version I have transferred is 7.3.

I noticed if the trial is run from different internet points the same 'invalid key' error is flagged.

I just want to test the software!

:o$

Thanks C.

We certainly want you to try it out.  Sometimes (a very few cases) though other AV or monitoring or firewalls block things, but in all cases doing some temporary changes to those will help Lumion to get working.

So, some more hoops to jump through:
1. Please attach a screencapture of the install folder so we can verify files.  It should look something like the one I have attached for v7.3 Trial.

2. Attach a screencapture of the files in folder "C:\Program Files\Lumion 7.3 Trial\ArchitectEdition\Classes\RenderEngine"

Yep,

These are the files transferred.

As I said it installed correctly. Just an issue with the license key?

Please download the latest trial version, i.e. version 7.5, on this page, and try again (Just ignore that it still says version 7.3 - it is the latest version 7.5).

Thanks in advance. :)

Thanks Morten.

I fear this will bring me back to square 1.

Am I right in thinking the setup files are specific to an individual access code?

Cheers,

C

Yes, the license is embedded in the installation files.

Downloading and installing Lumion 7.5 Trial is (virtually) guaranteed to resolve the problem as older Trial versions are invalidated once newer versions are released (which happened last week).

Apologies for the inconvenience (it would be helpful if Lumion informed users of this instead of just saying that a license key is invalid). :)

Ok,

Thanks for this.

If I download the trial again outside of my organisation to overcome the firewall.

Will it grant me a license via the same email as before or are licenses limited?

Cheers,

C

A new email with a new 7.5 Trial license will be sent to you after you complete the form. There are several built-in checks that ensure that nobody is abusing the system though, so you can only run a given Trial version once, i.e. 7 days in total for the 7.3 Trial, 7 days in total for the 7.5 Trial etc.
