Hi, I do not quite understand the sentence: As of Lumion 2.5, Lumion FREE users must activate their license as well. Lumion Free users do not have to register a license.

Could you post a "how to" in the f.a.q. how it works for the clients...

Hi Thomas, if you want to use Lumion FREE 2.5+ you do not need a license.

Simply register as a user on the Lumion website:

Then install Lumion and activate it with the username and password you registered with.

Lumion will then work as Lumion FREE.

One more question on this: I understand that only one instance of the commercial versions can run at a time. Is this true for the free version, too? Or if I want to run the free version on several computers, do I need to register as many times as I wish to run it?

The scenario: every year I go to a camp where we teach kids about Roman times (and yes, I also dress up in some Roman tunica). Now this always involves some computer activity, too where they can build their own stuff or walk about in ready made models (you can see some Roman forts on those monitors).

So if I wanted to play with the kids in Lumion this year, should I then register 4 or 5 "free licenses" here? (Note to slf: I doubt that each computer there will be able to run Lumion - maybe just one)

Hi Gaieus, Arthur says that it is probably possible to activate all of them as 'Free' with a single username/password. You may have to quit Lumion after activating it on PC 1 before activating it on PC 2 though.

You should probably test this before the camp starts - we don't want to disappoint those kids

I try to install and attivate Lumion2.5 but into the input mask "user" and "password" not goes on and say It's incorrect. I have two access accounts and neither of the two works

Hi marianozisa, are you typing in "marianozisa" in the login field and your password in the password field?

Thanks Morten (and Arthur). I usually go there 1-2 days before the camp starts anyway, so there are chances to test the scenario. I'll still need to register another user here as my current account launches Pro. I'll see and let all of you know what happens.

Ideally (I know this should go to the feature request section) I could imagine that you either enter your username/password to activate a commercial version OR there could be a checkbox to launch Lumion as the free version. Of course, I understand that this is also for some marketing/control reasons; the staff may like to know how many free versions are activated (vs. commercial) so the idea needs to be thought over more carefully.

I Morten, Yes I Try with My TWO account name and password, I try to disable windows firewall, But nothing works. I try o install in windows 7 and in windows xp, the same problem. Can be my access on internet? I don't kwon.

Hi marianozisa, if your firewall or internet connection prevented Lumion from verifying your login details, the error message would be "Error connecting".

Arthur tells me that an "Incorrect login" error message means that the username / password are not typed in correctly (or is using "illegal" characters", such as £@{[).

He suggests that you should change your password in the Account Settings (bear in mind that the activation text fields in Lumion are case-sensitive, so 'A' is not the same as 'a'):

Well, when I registered here, WP automatically assigned a password to me and there ARE some characters that could be considered "illegal" such as ) and *

Sorry marianozisa, I don't know why your internet connection is not letting Lumion connect to the server to verify your login details.

It's very difficult to diagnose this problem without access to your PC.

Have you got more than 1 firewall?

I'm ques3d user and from the quest3d ver 5 works good with the access to the server. Only a question the download file for install are connect to account system? Another question, what is in The file in memory for connecting to server?

So you are able to connect to http://backup.lumion3d.com/LumionActivation/Activate.aspx in your browser? If it responds with LOGINFAILED then the connection is ok.
