Pleeeease... Add this feature if it's not already available.

A "component brush" that allows you to paint a random mix of trees or plants, or people, or ny other type of component.

The only thing you can do now to make it faster is:

 

Draw 10 or so of each type in a spot. Select them all. Go to move mode. Select ALT and move the group!
