Hi, i ve seen great video animations where at night lights turn ON during the animation, does someone knows how to this with lumion? or they do it with another software?
I post an example of an animation and you can see how the lights turn ON from minute 2:50.
I would appreciate an answer!

When lights are placed in a layer and the layer is not visible, the lights are also not visible so it looks like they are Off.

So when a clip uses the Hide Layer Effect the lights will render as Off.  For the lights to be on, the Hide Layer Effect is not used for that clip, so they appear to have been turned on.

just use the skydrop effect and select the lights to drop. then adjust the sliders until you get the result you want. its pretty easy. I had to set it so they come dropping in pretty quickly so that you don't see them come gently floating down.

I was about to use AE as well, but thank god I found this topic!

Very, very nice!

However can you turn that bouncing off when it drops?

Hi Michiel, the bouncing is unfortunately built-in.

However, there are several ways to accomplish this effect, for example by animating the spotlight positions with the Advanced Move effect.

You can also take advantage of the automatic Night Activation function in the properties of spotlights.

You might find that a combination of several techniques yield the best result, for example by using Show/Hide Layer for some spotlights and one or more of the other techniques for other spotlights.

Thanks Morten for the tips!

For now the Skydrop will be fine.
I already use the night activation, however that is an all or nothing solution, since they turn on all at the same time.

I tried the show/hide layer option, but it only shows one layer at the time.

TIP: You can add more than one Hide Layer effect to a clip.
