I need help on how to render big scenes in lumion. I've seen aerial renders and others have managed to have a nice bird's eye render without limitation. Even F9 doesn't help and the shadows and antialiasing looks horrible. At certain distance the camera starts to clip distant objects and the shadows doesn't look good.

My Project is 53km.

Thank you so much

What version are you using onderozkan?

Even F9 doesn't help and the shadows and antialiasing looks horrible.

If you are using F9 then that is for showing plants at their best level of detail in Build Mode.

Build Mode will always be an as close to as possible approximation of the final render to photo or video, so as to enable real-time onscreen display of the whole scene including things like shadows.

Are you getting issues with shadows and AA when rendering to photo or video (at 3Star - highest quality)?

Note for Build Mode you can increase the level of real-time AA if your GPU supports it, such as the more recent NVIDIA drivers now have a switch to display FXAA.

I'll need to check what the camera far clipping distance is now (I think it used to be 35km). Edit: confirmed, it is.

Your project of 53km from what I can recall is certainly the largest so far, I think some of the others are 15 to 19km.

If the shape of the area is such, it might be possible to move the scene to some other point in the world to bring the furthest distance closer to the Lumion world centre. Of course this would require extra work in re-positioning all objects if it was a solution.

At certain distance the camera starts to clip distant objects and the shadows doesn't look good.

Have you tried using the Shadow Effect tool to adjust Shadow Range etc. (see pic attached)

A sample photo or video of the issues could also help us here to figure out the problems.

just a newbie here but thought it might help other newbies that you can find the shadow controls under the camera>> new effect(top left) >> under "Photo Effect">> world>>  shadow.

took me a while to find it, hope this helps.

cheers,
