Hello ,

Do you have any recommendations for reliable laptops? The users would be using the MS Office Suite as well as an ERP application. No need for more than 8GB of RAM. Would probably want at least 200 GB hard drive. We were testing chromebooks, which were working okay, but we would like to use a more widely supported operating system. But most importantly and will base the spec off of Lumion.
Or you can look at the business notebook recommended by this article: Which one do you think is better?

Any ideas, reviews, comments?

Hi Kaylee220

Thanks for enquiring first before buying laptops.

Lumion is a high performance but demanding 3D software that requires that the hardware meet, and preferably  exceed, minimum specifications.

8GB of RAM is the absolute minimum.  Laptops need to have a high performance dedicated graphics card.  Investing in good quality, high performance laptops will pay dividends in terms of speed of work and rendering time saved.

I presume you are looking to hardware so users can create and edit Lumion Scenes.  If you are only wanting laptops to show rendered content, then that's a different situation.

Please read the following Blog and Knowledge Base Articles:

Knowledge Base Article: Which laptop PCs do you recommend?

Knowledge Base Article: What kind of computer does Lumion need?

Also a 200GB harddrive would be the absolute minimum and would require regular archiving or storage on servers.  The files Lumion needs to create are large and can in some cases exceed 5GB.

I hope the above is a good starting point in your understanding of Lumion requirements.
