Blending textures

Lumion looks like a champion when creating 3D architectural movies!
 
I have created a simple model of a golf course in Sketchup and imported it into Lumion. Anyway, the textures look a little bit artificial because there is such a clear border between textures.

Is there any way to blend textures or would it be possible to use splatmaps in Lumion? See attashed picture from Unity 3D where I used splatmap (Tom's Terrain Tools) to paint the textures in the model.

Texture both surfaces with the "landscape" style...then look for the paint brush in the landscaping toolbar and select. Make sure you grab a decent size brush, and don't turn the "speed" up too high.  Select the surface you would like to "overlap", and paint away as if you were using a soft brush.  The faster the speed the faster the brush will paint.

Thanks for the solution!

Could you still help me with this. Is it possible to change the texture of landscape material and how many landscape materials you can have? At least, I wasn't able to change the texture of the landscape material in the demo version. Also, I haven't been able to test blending these materials because in it is not possible to have multiple landscape materials in the demo.

There is multiple textures that you can use in the full version.  At this point, you can not import your own textures for the landscaping.  However, there are about 12 different scene types that you can choose from when you are trying to find the texture that would be right for you.

That basically means that I wont be able to use the fairway material of the golf course in Lumion, when sort of blending textures is needed. I should create a flying camera animation of a golf course and therefore I am asking all these question. Is there any place where it is showed what textures, trees and other models are included in the commercial version?

There are textures that would work for a mowed fairway and grass.  I do not know about a compilation of screenshots regarding content.  The Lumion staff might have that for ya...if i get the chance, i will see if i can compile some screenshots for you.  It will take me a bit to get that going though.

Yes its very important to get color blending - maybe via vertex colors from import - or at least the possibillity to choose the terrain textures for painting.

My city viz looked like crap in some spots and I needed to use a lot of tricks and cover to get rid of the sharp blending.

So I vote for a minimum of 8+ texture slots like nearly every game-engine features today.

Since this seems to come around quite frequently, I have made a small tutorial on how to make your own custom presets and some examples on how things effect blending.
