BEST PC specs for Lumion?

Interested in buying new PC and want some feedback about it regarding Lumion.  I've been playing with Lumion (free) and really liked it.  I am considering buying a new computer (really powerful) and was wondering about some feedback regarding one specific I found:

Dell Alienware Aurora

Processors : Intel® Core™ i7-4820K Processor (10M Cache, up to 3.90 GHz)

Memory     : 32GB (4 X 8GB) Quad Channel DDR3 at 1600MHz

Video Card : NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 780 with 3GB GDDR5  OR NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 690 4GB    GDDR5

I want a really powerful computer since I am interested in rendering masterplans and rather large scenes.

Any comments / suggestions?

Thank you.

Don't bother with the GTX 690, unless you want it for games. Lumion cannot access the second GPU on the 690, and that also means VRAM available would only be 2GB.

The 780 or newer GTX 780Ti (some now with 6GB) or a Titan is the most powerful in the NVIDIA range.

thank you so much for your response.  We are a firm that really looking into Lumion and consider of implementing it in our designs and we are thinking of getting a quite powerful computer so we can use it for considerably large scenes (masterplans etc).  Is it any other suggestions you have (for the optimal performance of Lumion?)

The Ti has better specs and performance ratings than the standard 780.

More VRAM allows for more space on the card for larger scenes (all other things being equal).  So if budget does not restrict and the demand of scenes is such for most powerful, then the 6GB GTX 780Ti would probably be first pick now, followed by the Titan.

As of today's choice of cards mainly in the GTX range, some users may consider the ATI R series as another option, but they do not seem to have quite the same performance ratings so far.

why a 4820K CPU

If you do not take the 4930K, it is worth taking the 4770K for its price / performance.
As you'll see from this study the 4820K is not the best choice.

http://uk.hardware.info/reviews/4761/intel-core-i7-4960x---4930k--4820k-ivy-bridge-e-review-22nm-powerhouse

For the graphics card is the Titan 6GB or future 780ti with 6GB or future Titan go with 12. A passage in the bank is required.  :D

Another very important thing is the choice of the Ram memory which must imperatively be compatible with your motherboard and your CPU if you want to do overclocking.

No more than 4 bars (4x8) for the Quad channel.
Pay attention also to the bios of the motherboard with LGA 2011 and 4930K.

Obviously, it is clear that the transition to the 4930K is more expensive than the 4770K but for pro use with 6 cores, it is still faster.

Certainly not for Lumion but for 3D and video works it's sure.

Good luck  ;)
