Hello, I tried to search topics with the same aim, but I've not found what I was looking for.

sure is a simple question for you guys: is there some way to render a scene with a white neutral background?
I saw the "showcase" sample scene; the effect has been obtained using the fog (I suppose), but I wasn't able to replicate it in my scene.

My client ask me for a rendering with no backgroud, he has to put the rendering in a catalog so he doesn't want neither clouds nor blue sky (we were not able to use the alpha channel...).

is there anyone out there who could help me in this, please???

ciao!

With which Lumion version do you work? If you are using Lumion Pro you can render the alpha channel as an extra image. And with that mask you can easily replace the background image in Photoshop.

If the samples in Lumion for New or Examples that have reduced backgrounds (eg Showcase with the bike) don't work, then try importing a hemisphere, scale and apply your own color and material settings to suit so that the hemisphere blocks out all the sky/clouds etc background.  Alternatively a plane positioned behind subject view might also work.

Note all renderings in Lumion are of course shades of color using sun and other light, so you may never get a single flat 2D non-gradient type background.  So as mischa mentioned your best option as you have Pro is to render the alpha channel

Since you have Lumion Pro, you might have to render a Material ID map, and use the Magic Wand tool in Photoshop to select everything apart from the sky and the terrain. Just bear in mind that anti-aliasing isn't applied to edges on the Sky alpa/Material ID maps, so you may have to use Feather when selecting everything.

With a separately exported alpha mask, you can easily do the same in Gimp, too. Try the exports and post the example here. I also have Gimp so I can show you what and how to do. Eventually, you will need to end up with a format that supports alpha transparency (like png or tiff) but the starting image format can be anything.
