Hi
Ive been trying out Lumion and its very impressive! I use Artlantis but Lumion beats it hands down in my opinion and I will be switching to Lumion when  V3 arrives.

Very intuitive, great fun to use, quick and cheap. Exactly what architectural offices need in these difficult times.

Please provide more tutorials, for example on importing animated objects, and importing landscapes that have been created in other 3D apps using surveying data.

What needs to be developed now in my opinion, is a way to correctly orientate buildings and set sun position by time, date and location. Not difficult to implement and absolutely essential.
Also a way to create sections, elevations  of buildings.
And a way to implement decent looking grass that goes beyond tiled grass textures (looks awful and lets the final rendering down enormously)

Dont forget about the Archicad community, and make a point of going after Artlantis users who are feeling let down with the recent lack of progress with the software

great work guys

Hi Strawbale!

Thanks for your comment and advice. Entering the ArchiCAD market is something we have not forgotten, however the relationship between Artlantis and Graphisoft is deep (Artlantis is promoted on all Graphisoft websiters and are pushed by their resellers), making it a challenge to approach these highly relevant architects.

But we know many think as you have, using ArchiCAD, and expect more to come in the Lumion direction in the future.

Version 3.0 is soon to be released and we hope to even take another leap ahead of the competition we have in the arch viz industry. Your wishes are allready added to the wishlist, lets hope you will find a few nice surprises in 3.0, and after 3.0 we will continue to deliver new ideas and functionalities.

Perhaps this is the sort of thing you will be after.  Aaron (Byzantos) recently posted a preview look at grass options on his web site: http://byzantos.com/portfolio/lumion-speedtree/.  Thanks to research of: Jacobs Architekten

Some beautiful work there......but the grass that will get attention is fresh cut as in a lawn. The long beautiful thick grass depicted grows in the empty lot beside the one I am developing.
I would guess that strawbale is talking about cut grass as well.
