from day one you told us that is doable because of quest3d can already do it.
so why not integrate it. it has been much requested ...
Hi Stucki, I don't think any of us said that "from day one" (Nov 30 2010) - it was first mentioned during 2011. I understand that you are have waited for this feature for a while, but it's not as straightforward to implement this as it might seem at first glance.
In Quest3D, animated textures are streamed from files on the harddrive. In Lumion, however, the developers strive to include as many external files as possible in the
Library and
Scene files, so that they are more or less self-contained.
Add to that the minefield of playing video files with exotic codecs, framerates and resolutions, alpha masks if using .MOV files, combined with the new framerate types in Lumion, and things can quickly get very complicated to implement.
Quest3D users are usually quite tech savvy and know how to prepare their video files in order to make them work. I doubt that the developers want to place a similar burden on Lumion users.
