do you mean level curves?

if so, i think terrain export to hightmap / highmap to mesh in modeller/ intersections to get level curves / export intesection-lines as lines to collada / importing this model on top of the terrain ......

just an idea....i wonder, what our gurus here in the forum will say.....

Hi Stan

I have a dwg with all the hightcurves - but do you know I get them imported into Lumion?

Thanks

hi jorgensen,
if you use sketchup, it is easy to import dwg in skp and then collada to lumion. check the export preferences, but stand-alone lines will be exported normally.

it could be usefull to align the dwg with the original model before exporting, or place it manualy in lumion and adjust......there are also align functions in lumion .....see forum

you also can move object in lumion by changing x,y,z. by entering values.....check the forum.....

also any other cad / 3d software with collada or fbx -export will do the same job

does it help?

Hi stan.

I tried to export from revit, and boundery of the object seems to import, but the lines are not visible :-/

I will try via sketchup.

Does anyone know if its possible the change the color of the lines? I would like white curves on the surface :-)

Thanks

hi,
please check the settings of the export preferences

and if you don't manage to colour the lines, draw thin tubes of maybe 1 cm radius along them with few polygons, and manage the colour of these surfaces in lumion (in skp there is a ruby for that : tube along path.rb)

in my lumion 2.5 i can asign light-emissive material to lines imported from skp (change the colour of the lines there)

Thanks for sharing this tip, stan - I didn't know about this Ruby script :)

hi morten, in the latest version it is also possible to chose shapes in the ruby.

while selecting more lines connected to each other i recomend to use a bz.conversion. ruby to generate a polyline for the axis ( like for the copyalongpath.rb).

btw, will the lumion terrain be wider in 3.0, as written in some other topic longer time ago?

regards stan

Nice tip, thanks again!

No, it will still be 2048x2048m in Lumion 3.0.

Hi

I've got it to work - both the lines and color.

I had to import / export via sketchup - it would not work from Revit.

Thanks for the help.
