3dconnexion SpaceNavigator profile for Lumion

Hi everyone, I'm new to these forums and after some considerable frustration at LUMION's lack of support for the 3D mouse SpaceNavigator from 3DConnexion, I managed to fiddle around and get something working albeit a little clumsy still but a lot better than nothing.  Anyway, I thought other might want to try out what I've come up with to see if it works for you.  Feel free to make improvements and post back here if you come up with a better version.

I have also included in the archive, a PDF which shows the keyboard codes that 3DConnexion seems to use in their profile files (under Keyboard section).  Note that these codes are in Hex and should be entered as Hex in the XML file.

Hope it helps ... enjoy.

...... Seems I'm not allowed to attach anything so I can't share this :(

Hi

Thanks for your interest and work with 3DConnexion and Lumion.

Your RAR attachment should work so long as less than 10MB, but some file formats within RAR may prevent.
You should also be able to attach the PDF.

If it's still not working, try in a reply to this post, and if not, then email me peterm [at] act-3d.com so I can attach.

Attempting to attach rar file again ...

Nope:  Whenever I try to attach 193kB file i get the BIG RED X - blocked message.

Why have I been blocked?

This website is using a security service to protect itself from online attacks. The action you just performed triggered the security solution. There are several actions that could trigger this block including submitting a certain word or phrase, a SQL command or malformed data.
What can I do to resolve this?

You can email the site owner to let them know you were blocked. Please include what you were doing when this page came up and the CloudFlare Ray ID found at the bottom of this page.

All I have inside the archive is a PDF and a XML file.

I'm guessing it's your lack of forum privileges and the fact that the XML file can be used to execute malicious code.

The contents of .zip and .rar archives are scanned to prevent this from happening.

If you email them to Peter and I, we can attach the 2 files to your post (morten [at] act-3d.com and peterm [at] act-3d.com)

It would appear that my claim at a *solution* was premature!  In order to create/modify the profile I had to use the beta version of the drivers which allow for tinkering with key mapping changes and importing/exporting of profiles.  Unfortunately, once the *proper* current driver is installed everything just breaks and nothing works at all.  Most disappointing!  After a LOT or experimentation and attempted tweaking (aka fixing) I've finally accepted defeat.  The release driver/s operate in a completely different way to the beta version so my profile for Lumion is just completely non-functional and I have no idea why or how to get it to work.

It would have been a clunky workaround anyway and given that I personally can't tolerate the Lumion UI the way it is, I'm also abandoning Lumion as well and hope the devs look at providing a more acceptable/standard UI as well as support for 3D devices like 3DConnexion.

Oh well, it was worth a try.

Thanks for your feedback.
