(To Lunion Support)

I have wanted to buy Lunion for some time now but the lack of support for the space mouse has deterred me, you see I can use the 3D mouse in all the my programs but not Lumion. To make matters worse 3D connexion have withdrawn  the non supported software profile setup. I've contacted 3D connexion and the reply does not put Lumion in good light.

When is this mess going to be sorted out I and countless others have been waiting a long time.

Letter from 3D connexion attached.

Hi Bigyetti,

Thanks for your question and interest in Lumion. For a 3D connexion spacemouse user I can understand it's disappointing the hardware isn't currently supported in Lumion.

Is not supporting 3D connexion spacemouse something you can't overcome? If so what is the problem you have with navigating with keyboard and mouse?

We don't do any comments about future development of Lumion.

There are no problem navigating with the keyboard keys, but as all spacemouse users will agree the left hand using the spacemouse can carry out all theses movements simultaneously, smoother and much quicker without taking your hand off. Leaving your right hand free to use the normal mouse or hotkeys.

I completely agree with the statements made above

I too would like to support the use of the 3D mouse in any form.

Since it is not a problem from the point of view of programming and many many users really want it, I do not know why this is prevented. ???
It's a win-win situation for the manufacturer of the 3d mouse and for Lumion. It would be more than fantastic to control Lumion with the 3d-mouse. Doing this with the keys is more unpleasant. Especially for people with less exercise in handling the keys like me.

So P L E A S E ! ! ! support the 3D mouse very soon.

Hi Joe Bar

Thanks for your feedback.

ps: if you are using a commercial licensed version of Lumion, please add your license key to your Support Center Account.  See our Knowledge Base Article: How do you register your License Key and get technical support?  That gives you access to the full Support Center and it's resources, including our licensed users Wishlist.

I still can't believe that our spacemouse is not supported yet (LESS THEN ONE MAN DAY TO SUPPORT = A SINGLE PURCHASE PAYS FOR THIS!!).  I've wanted to use Lumion for a couple of years now but this lack of support is unacceptable.  I signed up to this forum just to post this comment.

Lumion developers:  Go watch a YouTube video from "Mr. Steele" doing FPV with a quadcopter THEN go navigate using Google street view.  This is the difference a 3-D interface makes.  One works but is clunky and hurts my wrist with needless mouse-clicks, while the other is fluid and smooth.

I don't even see you offering gamepad support (xbox 1, PS4) or VR controllers.  I PREFER AND WANT TO USE YOUR SOFTWARE, NOT your 'motion' 'twin' competitor that DOES offer 3D navigation.

Hi Kruizen, thanks for +1.

Out of 204,429 posts, there are 50 that mention '3D Connexion', so it is unfortunately not a priority for our developers. There's more information in this article:

Knowledge Base article: Does Lumion support 3D devices from 3Dconnexion?

I understand why you would like to have the option though, so that you can navigate seamlessly in your 3D apps without having to switch devices.

I don't even see you offering gamepad support (xbox 1, PS4) or VR controllers.

You can use a mouse, tablet pen, joystick or a game pad/controller. The latter would require a 3rd party app, e.g. Xpadder, to customise the control you'd want to assign to the various sticks and buttons.

If you have a Trial License Key and you register it on your Profile page, try searching for 'Xpadder'. There's a bunch of topics in the much larger forum for licensed users that have been written by people who use game controllers for navigating around Lumion.

Let us know if you've got any other questions or feedback.
